AUTHORS' GUIDELINES FOR THE HISTORICAL SOCIETY OF THE EPICOPAL CHURCH SPONSORED SUBMISSIONS TO THE NATIONAL EPISCOPAL HISTORIANS AND ARCHIVISTS' NEWSLETTER THE HISTORIOGRAPHER

The Board of the Historical Society of the Episcopal Church in an agreement reached with the Board of the National Episcopal Historians and Archivists will cooperate in publication of the newsletter The Historiographer. Articles of interest to members of both organizations will be solicited by the HSEC liaison.

Style for Submissions

  • 500 to 2000 words
  • Follow The Chicago Manual of Style, 14th ed. (1993)
  • Follow Merriam Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, 10th ed. (1993)
  • Text should be more engaging than academic in style, tell a good story, and lend itself to possible illustration
  • Text should appeal to a broad audience

Procedures for Submissions

  • Publication schedule is quarterly, January, April, July and October
  • Submit articles for review two months in advance of publication or February, May, August, and November
  • The preferred method of submission of articles is by e-mail with graphic images sent separately to editor Debbie Crall at dcrall@newjersey.anglican.org. If you choose to submit your article by mail, it should be<> printed on standard 8.5 by 11 paper, double spaced and sent to  Editor Debbie Crall, Diocese of New Jersey, 808 W. State Stree, Trenton, NJ 08618

  • Articles not suited to Anglican and Episcopal History
  • Church or Diocesan Archival Committee activities
