The Historical Society of the Episcopal Church is governed by a Board of Directors, which is responsible for the overall stewardship of the Society's mission, programs, finances, and assets. Acting on behalf of the Board between regular meetings, the Executive Committee oversees the Society's ongoing governance and operational matters. The Executive Committee consists of the Society's officers, the Historiographer of The Episcopal Church, the Editor of the Anglican and Episcopal History journal, and such committee chairs as may be designated by the President.
The Society is a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and is incorporated as a charitable corporation in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Copies of the Society's IRS Form 990 are available upon request from the Director of Operations.
